Ballistic shield NIJ Special Type rated for AK-47 (7,62x39 MSC) and lower velocity 5,56x45. Lightweight and easy to handle.
This is a lightweight, slim and easy to handle ballistic shield. This is our most popular model and our personal favorite due to the low weight and the simplicity of the design.
It was developed as a lightweight shield for protection against handguns and 7,62x39 fired from the AK-47, but it also protects against lower velocity 5,56. The protection level is suitable for most european countries and other locations where the most commons threats are handguns and AK-47s.
The shield is NIJ 0108.01 Special Type certified with 7,62x39 MSC (720m/s) and 5,56x45 (850m/s). Just as our other models in the ODEN series the shield also stops all common handgun calibers including military steel jacked/core variants like the swedish m/39B and eastern block 7,62x25 that penetrates IIIA armor.
The shield is scratch resistant, can handle rough use and has a theoretically infinite shelf life. In contrast to a ceramic shield the protection level will not be violated if you drop the shield to the ground, or let it bump around in your car.
